Checkmate Chess Puzzle's Data Deletion

Because Checkmate: Chess Puzzle uses Google Play Games Services for automatic sign-in and gameplay saving, your “account” is managed entirely through your secure Google Account. We (the developer) do not store your personal account credentials, name, or email on any independent servers.

How to Request Account and Data Deletion #

You can instantly and permanently delete your account profile, progress, and data associated with this game directly from your device. You do not need to contact us to process this, as you have full control over your Google Play Games profile.

Step-by-Step Instructions #

Option 1: From your Android Device Settings #

  1. Open your Android device’s Settings app.
  2. Tap Google (or Settings for Google apps).
  3. Tap Play Games.
  4. Tap Privacy & Settings (or Manage progress linked to your Google Account).
  5. Under the “Your data” section, tap Delete Play Games account & data.
  6. Scroll down to “Delete individual game data”, locate [Your App Name], and tap the Delete button.

Option 2: From the Google Play Games App #

  1. Open the Google Play Games app on your device.
  2. Tap the Profile icon in the top right corner.
  3. Tap the three dots (or gear icon) to open Settings.
  4. Scroll down to “Your data” and tap Delete Play Games account & data.
  5. Find [Your App Name] in the list and tap Delete.

Data Retention and Deletion Overview #

What Data is Deleted Immediately #

When you follow the steps above, the following data is permanently deleted from Google’s cloud servers:

  • Your unique Play Games Player ID linked to this game.
  • All cloud save files, inventory, and gameplay progress.
  • Your unlocked achievements and leaderboard scores.

What Data is Kept & Retention Periods #

Chess Puzzle uses Firebase Analytics and Google AdMob to monitor performance, diagnose crashes, and serve advertisements.

  • Analytics & Crash Diagnostics (Firebase):
    Anonymous, aggregated data (such as device model, OS version, app interaction events, and crash logs) is collected to improve app stability. This data is not tied to your identity or Play Games profile. Google retains this anonymized analytics data for up to 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.

  • Advertising Data (AdMob):
    AdMob may process a resettable device Advertising ID to serve relevant or non-personalized ads. You can reset or opt out of personalized advertising at any time on your Android device under Settings > Privacy > Ads.
